JANATA RAILWAYS TO IMPROVE SECURITY AT STATIONS
28TH August, 2011, Delhi
            Since March 2007, there has been an increase of 13% in the crime rate at railway stations in India. Following the terror attack at Mumbai, on the 26th of November, 2009, the Janata Railways Authority is seeking to improve the level of security at all major railway stations. These measures will be implemented from the following week and is scheduled to be completed by the year end.
            The Janata Railways Authority has focused on these aspects:
§  The Railways Security Force is being trained in Israel on handling security threats.
§  Luggage scanners, metal detectors, and laser scanners are bought from X-Force, the leading security firm.
§  CCTV’s are being installed at every fifty meters.
