The 4th edition as many
of you might have noticed was released under the editorship of one the talented
and dedicated of our lot here at MES – Shivani Naik of 1st year,
B.A. It was our earnest effort to promote young talent even within our ranks
here in the Editorial team. I hope this tradition of excellence only continues
from here on.
Coming as the 5th and
final edition of THE CREATIVE CORNER for the academic year 2011-12, I am proud
to present before you a ‘brave’ edition dedicated to poetry translation. I call
it ‘brave’ as it may portray thoughts apparently similar in nature. Yet, it has
been our constant endeavour to promote plurality in original thinking in
seemingly repetitive generes.
This edition is also a tribute to
the Kannada poets Kuvempu and P.T Narasimhachar whose original poems in Kannada
have been intricately translated into Hindi by our very own Prof. Manjushri
Menon of the Department of Hindi. These poems in Kannada and Hindi were then
translated by the young participants into English and are in the form that we
present before you now. Stringing together their own thoughts with those of the
original poems, they have successfully played wordsmiths!
I hope that you will appreciate
and love the efforts of the young poets just as much as we here at THE CREATIVE
CORNER loved presenting them to you.

online edition of THE CREATIVE CORNER at : www.mescreativecorner.in and do leave behind
your comments and suggestions.
