On the 'Porngate of Vidhana Soudha'
Our
politicians just can’t find favour in the eyes of the people, can they?
The
image that common man has about most of our politicians is corrupt, scandalous,
inefficient, etc. Well, it looks like we don’t need to change our perception at
all. If it’s a scandalous story you are looking for then turn your eyes to the
Karnataka Legislative Assembly where 3 cabinet ministers were caught watching
unethical videos (read as porn) on their mobile phone in the House while the
Assembly was taking place. All this while there was a heated discussion on
whether it is right to allow a religious group hoist the Pakistan flag in one
of the districts of the state. As if watching it alone was not enough, he roped
in 2 other ministers to give him ‘company’ and it looks like they were all the
more interested. They indeed had a heated discussion the house. The very fact
that these ministers had the audacity to watch such videos in the Assembly goes
to show that the interest of our politicians is not in serving the people but
elsewhere. What image does this portray to the public? What happened to the age
old saying that ‘government work is God’s work’? Such ministers make a mockery
of the entire political fraternity and do not deserve a chance to serve the
people.
Unfortunately
we have no law that states watching porn in the House is an offence but if
there was ever one these ministers would be punished severely.
And
meanwhile this was yet another controversy in the already tainted BJP
government. Opposition party leaders made the most of this incident and
demanded immediate resignation of the 3 tainted ministers.
Looks
like our government has “Triple Ex Ministers.”
