SERENDIPITY

It all began with one conversation,
Extremely friendly and very surprising.
One call, one text message,
Only one a day
Was all it took to renew
Years of friendship,
Which was not forgotten
But only buried underneath
The flurry of everyday life.

Three meetings, three chance
Meetings with other friends,
Was all it took to
Kindle the beautiful
Warmth of friendship
Into a flame of passion,
Of excitement an love.

Two months, one fight past
An another brewing up;
It is still good.
It is love, unlike any other.
Though claimed by every lover in the world
This love seemed different…mature.

Love was expressed, in notes
Notes that were written on office stationary,
On tissue paper, on anything.
Notes written with pens, pencils, crayons,
Eye make-up, nail paint and even charcoal.

Though the charcoal wrote ‘A little bruised’
After a fight.
Their love was smudged maybe, but indelible.
Six months, silly fights,
No signs f a separation
Very much in love.

Her world knew she was happy,
His world knew she was happy,
Just didn’t know why.

Eleven months past, one mammoth
Of a fight after,
They decide they want the other,
More than the fighting.
No apologies made on either side,
Peace return, it is silent yet love.

Eleven months, five days.
His world discovers the reason of his happiness;
Poses him a choice of having
To choose between the world
He knew and loves,
And a world he has discovered
With her..
She decide t let go,
Wishes to put him through
No more pain or anguish.
Withdraws….

Eleven months, fourteen days,
They decide to test the waters
Of friendship, together.

Hurts too painful,
They realise they have reached
A  point of no return.
They decide to stay away,
Do so, for a long time.
Long to them, ten days to the world.

Eleven months, twenty-five days
They meet to realize, nothing has changed.
After what seemed eons.
They realize nothing will change.
Serendipity wouldn’t allow for change.
