BENDING WITH NATURE

How beautiful the sunset is!
With its darkening hills and glistening seas,
with the fiery, orange sun setting low in the west,
admist the chirping of birds and humming of bees.

As I lay on the wet, sandy shore,
I think to myself, ' What a wonderful light!'
No other thoughts dare enter my head.
On this cloudless, peaceful, heavenly night.

The stars pierce through the velvety sky, one by one.
The moon too, reflecting its light from the Sun.
Shooting stars and comets rarely passing by
and artificial satellites probing the night sky.

All is quiet, all around,
without a soul near by to make a sound,
Everyone is asleep, tucked in thier beds,
the cows and buffaloes locked in thier sheds.

The seconds turn into minutes, the minutes into hours,
I continue to gaze at the starry blanket above,
The cool, salty ocean breeze brushes across my face,
My body begins to relax; my heartbeat lessens its pace,

Before I know it, I am conquered by heavenly slumber
I am oblivious to my surroundings, my eyelids are shut;
I am sucked into a whirlpool of colourful dreams,
So very realistic, these dreams do seem.

And now, from the seas, the sun will rise,
Making a sight to behold to the human eye,
The start will not sparkle, the moon will not shine,
Becuase the Sun will have come out by that time
