THE CREATIVE CORNER inaugurated
its activities for the academic year 2011-12 with a bang on the 16th
of September, with the launch of the CREATIVE CARNIVAL- an intra-collegiate
literary fest, which even inspired the teachers to come forward and
participate! What more could we have asked for!
The seminar hall was jam packed
for talk by Radio Jockey Sreeja Mohan of FM RAINBOW which was encouragingly
interactive with the students loving every moment of their interaction with
her. She said it best when she said, "It is not old fashioned to be nice.
A sense of responsibility is a prime asset not only for a Radio Jockey but for
all professions."
As the semester comes to an end,
we at THE CREATIVE CORNER are here with the 2nd edition! Speaking of
the ignorance that a majority of Indians live in regarding the North Eastern
Indian states, Namita highlights the struggle of Irom Sharmila, which makes for
a powerful read. Furthering the tone, Narayan takes up the case of the
inequality of law when it comes to punishing ‘corrupt’ politicians. Do not miss
the refreshing poems by Raghunandan, Varsha, Suhasini and Navya which explore
the depth of the human mind in altered states. Finally, the brilliant write up
on the ‘Orator who fell.. .’ will surely inspire many of you. The author has
preferred to be called the ‘THE ORATOR’, and I am looking forward to the kind
of buzz that it will generate.
I take this opportunity to thank
all the contributors to the 2nd edition of THE CREATIVE CORNER for
their contributions. I hope the readers will cherish them as much as I have had
the pleasure in reading them myself. The Department of English also extends its
best wishes to you all for the on-going festive season. We wish you all a
beautiful time ahead!
