Forcing oneself over another by abusing sexually is called rape.
In India we have many tortoise-like rules, laws, and punishments for this kind of brutality. We all know about Gandhiji, the father of our nation. When India got Independence from the British, he said, “India will have complete freedom when a girl can walk on a road at midnight fearlessly.”
Now, we feel safer to walk with a policeman. But really, are girls really safe?
Let’s analyze the present situation of the world. A girl child going to school to learn and then comes back home and her mother finds marks on her body. When they complain to the police, they ignore and no action is taken against the culprit, instead the victim is assaulted again.
A girl is raped by her father, abused by her brother and also assaulted by her friends. And why is that? That’s because she is a GIRL.
Just a few months back we heard about the rarest of rare case of rape in Delhi. It is the most brutal example of animal behavior of a person.
Now the court has ordered to hang the heartless criminals. Is that enough for all that they have done?
Just hanging the criminals will kill them after a few minutes of suffering. But think about the pain and humiliation the girl had to go through every day before she died an untimely death.
There are several such girls who get raped in our country every single day and then are looked down upon by the society and become a burden to their family.
The court says that if someone commits a rape, he should pay some fine and remain in jail for a year or two and then he’ll be back on the streets. The question that haunts me- is the fine which they pay considered the value of a girl’s purity and dignity in the society?
When a boy sees a girl with a bad intention, I think they should just think about their own mothers and sisters and re-think their intentions.
I don’t say they should treat women as a goddess but just as a fellow human being who deserves her rights, just like everybody else! Don’t treat her like a commodity with a price tag.
Girls should have a right to wear whatever they please without being questioned or stared at in public. All they want is right to freedom of expression and they should be able to achieve that without any objection.
And remember, in revenge and in love woman is more barbaric than man is.
