TO THE ONES I LOVE

The ones I love are many indeed.
The ones I love are like flowers bright.
The ones I love are gifts eternal.
The ones I love have shared their light.

The ones I love are a part of me.
The ones I love I've shared my heart.
The ones I love have heard my story.
The ones I love have felt my pain.

The ones I love have shed their sorrows.
The ones I love have told their fears.
The ones I love held me closely.
The ones I love have dried their tears.

The ones I love have brought me courage.
The ones I love have brought me peace.
The ones I love have given me hope.
The ones I love have assured me his love will never cease.
Oh! I can't get all my words into a sentence.
And I can't neatly package all they mean.
For lines of words could never catch completely.
All that they mean to me.

MY PAINFUL STORY

I walk on the road, I get stared
I speak to a boy and soon I get paired;
I wear or do something funny, and I get glared,
I'm asked to be bold but then I'm made to feel scared

Gone are those days when I was respected by all
In school, college, in a market or in a cinema hall
They talk of equal laws for both man and woman
But still they are brutal and treat us like a hen.

I'm questioned by them when I return home late
As the clock strikes 6 they are quick to close the gate;
Rules and more rules, all! Of these, only for us!
This is what makes me sad and this what I hate!

I question you, O man, where is your humanity
Is it that you have just lust? And brutality?
I challenge you O man, that I shall regain my power,
Be it all praises or complete respect, from everywhere they shall shower.

WATCHING CLOUDS

I like to look up
at the sky
and watch the clouds
go sliding by.
I like to see them
large and small
I like to sit on them.
I like when they are dark
before rain begins
to pour and pour
and I like to see them
shaped like faces
or maps of many
different places...

WHO IS SHE

When I'm sad,
she feels bad.
She hates my cry
she always wants me to fly.
She is always there with me,
any guesses who is she?
She is a friendly soul
she helps me set my goal
She never makes me feel alone,
she wants me to be happy like I have seen a clown.
She is like a doctor, all mine
who soothes all my pain
Would you like to know who is she?
She is the goddess of love to me
who makes all dishes yummy,
SHE IS MY DARLING MUMMY...

GHOST

There is a ghost in my room
very mean and naughty,
who drinks up my bottle of mango frooti!
When I woke up one day to brush my teeth
I saw my mother standing by me with a stick
The ghost had eaten all the chocolates
and she thought it was me!
She chased me - so I ran and ran and ran
and climbed up a tree where I saw
A ghost laughing at me...

MOTHER

I love my mother more than
    all in the family.
All my doubts she clears
  and wipes away my tears
When I'm hurt she wipes my tears
when I'm sad she spreads my cheers.
She taught me how to spell
and held me when I fell.
She teaches me well
her voice is like a tinkling bell.
